Rather elegantly, you do your rounds on the ice. Then, you gather momentum to skate some fast lengths. And then, you try it: your first small jump. No matter whether you are nearly a professional about to learn the first Rittberger (loop jump) or a beginner: Skating is definitely one of the special pleasures of winter.
In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, you can even enjoy this hobby in an Olympic atmosphere: in our Olympic Ice Sports Centre. Originally, it was built for the 1936 Winter Olympics, it nowadays is a true highlight and the perfect setting for competition, shows and entertainment - not just in the winter but also in the summer (from July).
Here, you can not only skate your rounds but also try other ice sports: Bavarian curling ("Eisstockschießen") or curling, for example. Why not give it a try?
In the Garmisch-Partenkirchen region, there are also plenty of lakes to skate, jump or dance on in the winter. With your friends, you can go Bavarian curling on the Riessersee or Pflegersee. Afterwards, it will be time to warm up again - with a steaming cup of mulled wine, for example.

If the lakes are frozen and open for skating, skating is also possible on the Riessersee and Eibsee.
