There is much to discover in Garmisch-Partenkirchen – even if the weather is not at all perfect: excursions, museums, exhibitions, fascinating events, wellness spas, and many sights. Additionally, you can also stroll, shop, and indulge yourself.
Just let yourself drift through the historic centres of Garmisch and Partenkirchen. Listen to the histories narrated by the famous and beautiful frescos, called Lüftl-paintings, at the houses’ facades. Visit one of the old churches or get to know the town via a guided tour.
Are you interested in our new famous landmark – the Olympic ski jumping hill? Have you always wanted to stand at the ski jumping platform? A guided tour will offer you a glimpse behind the scenes of the famous New Year’s Ski Jump Competition.
Interesting impressions are also guaranteed in the Michael-Ende adventure exhibition, the Richard-Strauss institute, and the Aschenbrenner museum. Alternatively, learn about the region’s long and rich history when visiting the Werdenfels museum.
Are you up for an adventure? If so, a hike through Partnach gorge is perfect for you – especially when it rains. The increased amount of water feeds the waterfalls, whirls, and waves. Magnificent!
Regardless of what the current weather is like – climbing is always possible. You can climb in our indoor bouldering hall, for example, where you will find the perfect training environment.
If you are interested in relaxation and recreation, on the other hand, you will find those in the sauna and spa area of the Alpspitz-Wellenbad or in the public wellness area of some hotels.
As you can see: Garmisch-Partenkirchen has so much to offer, even on rainy days!
