From Mount Kreuzeck through the Höllental (Höllentalklamm)
The descent from Mount Kreuzeck through the Höllental Valley and the Höllentalklamm Gorge is a tour throughout a great landscape and a must for anyone who loves hiking in the mountains.
The views of Mount Zugspitze and the Waxenstein Mountains into the Höllental and its glacier as well as the hike through the Höllental Gorge are some of the most beautiful things the Wetterstein Mountains have to offer. This tour leads you from Mount Kreuzeck via Hupfleitenjoch Saddle and past the Knappenhäusern to the Höllentalangerhütte (Alpine hut). Up to this point and further through the Höllentalklamm you will walk along historic routes. A glance to the left and right is always worth it: You can discover abandoned mining galleries and the ruins of an old electric power station. In addition, of course, the impressive setting of the complete Höllental, with a view over the Höllental glacier and the summit of Mount Zugspitze are also here for your enjoyment. The hike through the Höllentalklamm with its tunnels, bridges and planks over the wild and thunderous stream with all its whirlpools and waterfalls is an unforgettable adventure that is also suitable for practiced families.
