An oasis in the centre of town

The Michael-Ende-Kurpark (spa-gardens) is located at the heart of Garmisch. It is a quiet and peaceful oasis, the perfect place to relax. Surrounded by old trees, majestic flower beds and a colourful water lily pond, where you can relax, read, enjoy the silence or let your mind wander. Countless benches, open-air chess, boccia and a historic skittle alley all tempt you to stay awhile and relax.

The “bare foot footpath“ promises a sensual experience for your feed. It guides your feet over spiky pinecones, softly formed river pebbles and cotton wool-like moss patches: a journey of experience for the feet, which stimulates the senses, strengthens the feet muscles and encourages your sense of balance.

During the summer months, the quiet is interrupted for a short while by the daily live concerts (Musik im Park) from classical to big band in front of the shell-shaped building. Otherwise, the 35,000m² park and its 40,000 plants is always a place for leisure and relaxation.

In the centre of the spa parks, there is the Kurhaus with the Market Gallery offering regular art exhibitions, reading rooms and the Michael-Ende-Exhibition “The Beginning of the End(e)”.
